I bought this system several months ago. I am reviewing it now as I just bought another one for my parents. Value for the money is unbeatable.


Pros: Price!
Looks good and has uncluttered controls
Can control from the front panel, not just remote
Three digital audio inputs (2 coax, 1 optical)
Tuner has good reception
Remote's range is excellent and controls Pioneer DVD players
Dolby Digital, PL, PLII, DTS, and Windows Media decoding
Front audio input is 1/8 jack. Much nicer than RCA jacks

Cons: No line out in digital mode (typical of most A/V receivers)
No 5.1 discrete analogue inputs
Remote buttons are *tiny* and don't glow in the dark
No "all channel stereo" although "EX POWER" mode is close
Can't rename/reassign inputs (the higher end models can do this)


This system has great sound, and surprising features for the price.
It has two coaxial S/PDIF (digital audio) inputs and one TOSLINK
(Fiber optical dig. audio) input, along with two analogue inputs.
Most systems in this price range have one. My only complaint here is the lack of discrete 5.1 inputs. The additional digital inputs almost make up for this.

It also has one set of analogue line level outputs, I use them for my wireless headphones (Acoustic Research model AW722, see my review here on Amazon)


The included speakers aren't the greatest but they sound amazing for the size and price. The subwoofer gives good bass and isn't "boomy" like some lower priced models. No video switching, but at this price point
that's OK. I give it five stars for the value, ease of use and features.
