Defective monitor
I've had this monitor for about 2 years now. It was all fine in the beginning but after a year or so, the DVI port broke down on me (ie no signal can be detected using the monitor's DVI port). From a quick google searc, I've found out that it's a very common problem with the VX2025, I've found hundreds of cases like mine. I've tried the factory reset quickfix a few times- it worked but now that doesn't even work anymore.

Sent it for replacement, waited 2 weeks to get it but they sent the exact same one I had without any repairs. Their customer service sucks, no logistics whatsoever.
Good thing it's discontinued now. I'm never buying viewsonic again, probably will go for quality over screensize next time.

This was my first LCD monitor, and after a lot of research, it seemed a great deal for the price.

Tonight, while burning a DVD and surfing the web, the monitor went off. I figured it was my system crashing/rebooting, but nothing came up. When I went to turn the vx2025wm back on, I noticed it was smoking. I quickly unplugged it and it's now a useless piece of trash. I'm just glad I kept my old CRT monitor in storage.

Do I think this is a fluke? Perhaps. But I've never had a piece of equipment catch fire and I've always had a LOT of electronic devices in use. Just a heads-up.

Very Disappointed
I love ViewSonic, and I used to recommend it to everyone but today I changed my mind. One of my VX 2025 Flat screens started to show this white line accross the screen. I tried changing computers, cables, etc. but no use. I called ViewSonic and they said I can send it in for repair and wait at least 15 days to get it back. Maybe for home use thats ok but for work no way. Even Samsung that in my opinion makes horrible products offers an instant swap.

At first I was very unhappy, I started to panic :) all because I don't have a dvi port. So I had to set up colors for about 10 min. But when I was finished the magic started! The quality and looks of this monitor are unbelievable. slightly over 300$ for a good 20.1" widescreen? YES ! Everything about it is just great! Definitely worth buying.
